House Church: Thursday, October 13, 2016

This past Thursday we took some time to evaluate where the house church is right now. Below are the statements and questions that we took time to evaluate and discuss.  If youtongues-of-fire weren’t there on Thursday take some time to think and pray through these questions. If you were there continue to think and pray about these this week.

House Church is a community with the purpose of spurring one another on to deepen our relationship with Jesus and to support the needs of those in the community.

We believe spiritual growth and maturity requires both time and effort. It is essential to regularly devote time to your relationship with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit and to practice the spiritual disciplines.

  1. Do you consistently make time for your relationship with God? Do you consistently practice any of the spiritual disciplines?

We believe sharing what the Lord is doing in our lives, needs, prayers, celebrations, and struggles are a necessary part of house church for your own benefit as well as the community’s.

  1. Are you willing to share what the Lord is doing in your life, your needs, struggles and celebrations with the house church? If not, why?

We believe being connected outside of Thursday night is necessary to being part of a house church community.

  1. Do you connect with people in house church outside of Thursday night? If so, how? If not, why?

For this Thursday, please listen to this message by Simon Ponsonby:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvOtTCuLPfk

Be prepared to continue our discussion from last week in light of this sermon.
